SELF PORTRAIT

I completed this oil painting in the summer when Covid-19 hit. I was trying to make the most of my time being cooped up at home, and this was my first self-portrait that I spent a great deal of effort on. My favorite color was Cadmium Red, so I wanted to use a lot of it. Which is why my shirt, earrings, and makeup are all very red. I also just had to include my cat, Stormi, in it. This piece was in the 2021 Annual Juried B.F.A. Student Art Exhibition in the Joan Derryberry Art Gallery at Tennessee Technological University.
