FATHER JOHN MISTY
Father John Misty is a musician, singer-songwriter, and record producer. This portrait of him was my second ever digital painting and is my most popular piece of work. It has been reposted a few times on a Father John Misty fan-club page on Facebook with over 5,000 members. It was in Tennessee Tech’s School of Art Craft and Design’s B.F.A. Juried Student Exhibition in the Spring of 2019 where I received a Juror’s Merit Award. It was also in the 2020 Best of Visual Arts Society Student Art Exhibition at the Craft Center Gallery at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, TN.

This is my second painting of Father John Misty. I liked this picture of him because in it he has a mustache instead of his usual beard. I completed this in my figure studies course, and this project allowed me to further practice painting with pastels. It was in the 2021, School of Art, Craft, and Design B.F.A. Student Work show at the Appalachian Center for Craft in North Windows Gallery in Smithville, TN.
